Avocet beats production guidance

West African miner Avocet increased gold output at its Inata mine in Burkina Faso by 20% to 166 744 oz in 2011, topping its production guidance. The London-listed miner lifted production nearly 40% to 46 102 oz in the fourth quarter, from 33 256 oz in the previous quarter.
